Hey guys! My very first blog post is here! I am so excited to be starting this blog, "The Girl With Glasses" (associated with my Youtube Channel), and I can't wait to start posting more every week. Just thought I would let you know a little bit about me before we get started.
As you all know already, my name is Ren Sweet, and I am a YouTuber, Blogger, Entrepreneur, NYC enthusiast, chocolate lover, and hippie. If you have already watched my first video on YouTube, you know 22 interesting facts about me, and if not, that okay because there is still more to learn! Not only do I want to share my likes, dislikes, hobbies, goals and dreams with you, but I want to get to know you too. So let's start off at the beginning.
I was born in April of 2000, and from the very beginning I was ready to take on the world. Growing up I was in love with Disney Princesses and I always wanted to be like them someday. That dream is still alive as I want to go on to become a "NYC Princess" and conquer my dreams with ease. From the age of 6 I have wanted to travel to NYC more than anything! NYU is the college I'm aiming for, and I one day hope to make it there and even if I don't end up liking it, I will have accomplished my greatest dream. I sometimes think that I was just born very far away from where I am supposed to be, so in a way, I'll just be on my way home when I finally make it there.
As you can imagine, I am still pretty young. Freshman year of high school, but I am already preparing for the rest of my life. I currently own an online business called Ces't si Bon Design on Etsy, where I sell all things that I hand make myself. I am also a designer, as I mentioned previously, I love interior designing. Since I was about 7 I've been drawing out floor plans, designing furniture, and sometimes taking paint colors from Home Depot just to play with and pretend I was actually doing a job for someone. I have also always been in love with clothing design. I've been designing clothing, and even sewing, since I learned how to hold a pencil/needle. I have so many designs, filling up notebooks and sketching pads in my house, and I barely remember doing most of them before!
Along with being a teenage business owner, designer, sewer, and NYC enthusiast, I am in love with writing! I have been writing since about the age of 10, and I have about 4-5 notebooks full of songs, stories, poems, and quotes in my room. I love to write quotes and songs the most however, as I feel like I can express things better through music or quotes. I love to sing, and I play the piano. I have recorded a few acapella songs that I've written, and I plan to make some YouTube music videos of those promptly. I already have an Instagram account dedicated to all my own writing pieces, and I make an effort to post daily, so you can go check out the links on my blog to find it, and hopefully you enjoy my work.
I enjoy media and filming as well. I filmed a couple music videos with some friends, which was of course just messing around while we were bored, but I loved being behind the camera and grabbing all the right shots and scenes. My father is actually the owner of Epitage Media, which is a video filming company where you can have professional videos filmed and edited for you. I come with him on a lot of video shoots, and I was actually in a couple of his videos in the past. I enjoy coming along because I get to help him with working out different angles and shots that you can get for professional and sharp videos. I once stayed up until 1:00 in the morning editing a video with my dad that he was doing for our church's easter service last year. I have a lot of fun with film and editing and I think I might want to pursue that a bit in the future.
Not to mention the fact that I am a movie maniac. I am virtually obsessed with movies. Disney, Marvel, Mystery, Action, Romance, comedy, even documentaries. I have seen it all. I currently have the ability to speak fluent movie quotes, and since about the age of ten, I haven't gone a day without squeezing a quote into my daily language. For example, I may be at school sitting at a table, and waiting for class to start, when someone walks in and slams their books down on the desk. I, naturally, would have to scream out, "that is MAHOGANY!" (Hunger Games). I actually use movie quotes in some of my videos, so you might hear one from time to time!
There is still so much more to know about me, and I am sure that in upcoming blog posts and youtube videos, you will be able to learn more. I was born a designer with creativity and passion. I am excited to keep pursuing my dreams, such as designing and writing, and I hope to someday make it in the big leagues and do what I want to do with no strings attached. I want to film my own videos, record my own music, and maybe even make my own movie someday! Some people see me as a person who dreams too big, but I think they are the ones that think too small. So there you have it! All there is to know about me, Ren Sweet.
